We have found our first home!!!
When you think about what your first year of marriage will look like, you might imagine your first home with the colored walls you've always wanted and all of the new shiny things from your registry nestling in.
When you think about your first year of marriage in a foreign country, you drop all of those expectations and learn to be creative. Your priorities shift to what do we think we can get to accommodate the essentials of sharing a life together...a couch...an oven...a bathtub!
When Derek and I started looking for a place to live we went in looking for a couple of specific things. We wanted a seperate bedroom from a "main room" and a bathtub. We wanted a "big enough" living space to have our bible study and friends over and be comfortable. We wanted enough closet space for the two of us.
Well, we got all of those things and then some! God's blessing and provision in this place goes beyond all of our prayers and into awe at his love and majesty and at his work in our lives.
We will be near a couple of other married foreigners that go to our church. We are a 5 minute walk from church. On the 12th floor of a community development with 2 balcony's, 2 bedrooms, great living room, oven, ac, frig, bathtub, an "extra bedroom for closet space," and other great gifts, like a free couch!
So, we are incredibly excited about this new place and where we are going to spend our first year of marriage.
Side note: This place is available to us August 20th. Derek returns to Korea August 21st. He's going to move in and when I get back August 29th, I'm coming straight home to my hubby in our new home!
Married life is looking Ni-suh in Korea!
