A Very Special Friend

Today I am so thankful for a very special friend. Her name is Nancy and she is my mentor. Derek and I began praying two years ago for a church, a worship leader position and mentors. When Derek interviewed with our church we asked, ARE THERE MENTORS?? After my Korean mentor left Korea for Canada it became dry without one. I was so thankful when the resounding answer was, "Well, sure!"

After meeting the amazing ladies of OSLC, Derek and I had no idea who my mentor would be, but we began praying and over and over again the name we got was Nancy.

You see, I already had a Nancy in my life. When I moved to Korea as I began praying over my first meal with at my school everyone watched with eyes wide open. Feeling awkward, Nancy exclaimed, "Anlee are you a Christian? I am, too!" Most of you know the rest of the story. My first Sunday in Korea, Nancy took me to Dongsan Church where I met my future husband. Nancy gets the credit for introducing me to my husband...and now I have another Nancy in my life...and she gets the credit for praying our child into the world.

Derek and I have learned so much from watching this amazing woman live her life for Christ, from watching her generosity, her kindness to others, her LOVE for her family and her love for us.

So, here is my conclusion - Thank you GOD for this amazing woman in my life, for teaching me through her, for loving me and for calling me out of my ridiculous selfishness and challenging me to love deeper, give more and be JOYful in everything!
