15 weeks

How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain: I refuse to weigh or get a scale outside of my appointments.
Maternity clothes? yep - Check out my $5 find at Target above
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: Saturday nights are the worst. I never sleep through Saturday nights which makes Sundays rough.
Best moment this week: Okay, so I have to admit that I am currently 18 weeks and I just can't remember week 15.

Miss Anything? Not throwing up.
Movement: I think so. Still feels like gas bubbles.
Food cravings: Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Everything, especially breath! Dog breath. People breath. Wind!
Gender: By week 20
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Can't remember
Belly Button in or out? in, but getting more shallow.
Wedding rings on or off? ONly my engagement ring.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, and moody, and exhausted!
Baby's Milestones: Baby is the size of a navel orange. Growing leaps and bounds. I am also growing by leaps and bounds. Week 15 marks the time when miscarriage fears are abated. THank GOD!
Looking forward to: Derek feeling more involved and bonded with the baby.
Derek's summary of the week: Sorry guys, no summary this week. Like I said, I'm 18 weeks and just getting to posting 15 weeks.

**This week, however, does mark a time in the pregnancy when I actually felt like showering, drying my hair AND putting on a little bit of makeup! This is all new for our pregnancy! Also, the day I took this picture, I didn't throw up until late evening so Derek actually got to see me "put on my face" as he calls it. He got a glimpse of his wife again pre-pregnancy!

The lovely aunts of baby Fekkes leave me speechless

No caption, only the word "boy" in the sand.
I'm blessed. I have the most considerate, thoughtful, creative, amazing women in my life. This is one lucky baby! Today, at noon, I received 7 texts all at once. The first one was from Melissa.
Then Emily, "I think you are having a little baby boy!"

From the McCulloch Clan, "boy, girl, boy"

From Adam, Brooks' hubby...I hope so too Adam...

From Brooks, the schemer behind it all! "Girl"

Kritty, in UGA print, "Girl"

Lindsey, with homemade sugar cookies frosted to say "BOY"

And Amy, the professional photographer's guess at "BOY"
I smiled reading each one. I continue to smile thinking about it. I raced home from work to show Derek. Please slap me if I complain that I am too far away from my friends. With friends like these I seriously do not think distance is a deterrent. Ladies, you wanted to do something special and you did. This is a lasting memory in the pregnancy of Baby Fekkes. Thank you so much! I can't wait for baby to meet all of his/her amazing aunties! And Lindsey, those cookies are in the mail, right?

Indescribable Joy

Baby Fekkes KICKED!
The most amazing thing happened last night after hours of sickness...
Our sweet little baby Fekkes kicked for the very first time.
Our Baby might be the next Olypmic Gold Medal Winner in the butterfly event.
I'm not exaggerating when I say with full assurance that our baby high-fived me last night.
After a nice 4 hour road trip/sight-seeing tour, we got home, laid down in bed, and our baby MOVED!
This little one was busy stretching out arms and legs, getting acquainted with his/her humble abode.
I can't begin to describe the joy and awesomeness of feeling this baby  move inside of me.
It simply goes beyond words.
Sickness makes you aware that you are holding life inside of you, but feeling movement,
that is the point when you sit back and realize that God is growing and building a beautiful design inside of you for His glory. I'm now constantly touching my stomach anticipating feeling the movement again.
The picture that comes to mind to describe this baby's movement goes a little something like this:
You know those glass bottles that have a small sailboat inside and float on water? You are always wondering how the sailboat made it through the smaller opening in the bottle. Well, envision the sailboat rocking on the waves as you tip the bottle back and forth. That is what our babe was doing last night. Rocking back and forth on the wave of my belly. Flutters. Tickles. Absolute JOY!
Thank you sweet baby Fekkes for welcoming us into the 17th week with movement!
I can't wait for our belly-talk time each night hoping to feel you move and see the excitement on your daddy's face. He would like you to kick me really hard so that he can feel you, too.
Last night, after the rocking and stretching, I rested my hand on the left side and I believe you crawled over and just rested in my hand. I felt you sitting there before you readjusting a few minutes later to find your spot. We love you sweet baby!
Indescribable Joy!
