Thoughts of poo...

Okay, yes, I have poo on the brain all. the. time! I know that if I eat foods high in iron, E's poop will change from his normal mustard yellow seedy poop to stringy green poop that resembles a green smoothie. Our adventures in poop include:

1. Trying to take cute naked newborn photos...having E poop all over me while adjusting his pose. Daddy laughed. Lesson learned = wait to take photos until after a major poo.
2. Taking the diaper off too early at bath time, leaving the bathroom drawer slightly open...results in splatter poo all over the counter, in the drawer and on your hairbrush, on the floor and on you...a smiling baby finishes it off. Lesson learned = make sure the water is ready before you take the diaper off.
3. Taking a bath in poop...Ezra has been known to let it all out while enjoying a leisurely soak. Lesson learned = make sure the kid has recently BM'd before a bath.
4. Projectile poop on the changing table...Ezra has horizontally shot out poo across the length of the changing table while being wiped down. Lesson learned = watch the babe's face. When he starts to "plank" and bite his bottom lip, prepare the hatch and clear the area!

And ohh the adventures with pee...Ezra has almost slamdunked his mouth with his aim and arc. He has hit the mirror in the bathroom. He routinely fills his belly button on the changing table or bath and he has wet mom and dad's clothes and the bathroom floor to the point where we all need waterproof pants!

The system is humorously falling into place as we learn about E's digestive system. The adventure's into parenthood never cease and always keep us laughing...maybe not in the exact moment, but eventually. We love this little guy and all the lessons he is teaching us.

The small things...

Ezra turned 8 weeks yesterday! And his gift to us was a stretch of 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep! (On his part...not mom and dad's.) Ezra is doing so much better at going to bed at a consistent time. Right now, our schedule looks something like this:

Wake - 7:00am ish
feed - straight back down for a 30-45 minute nap
Wake - feed
wake time - usually about an hour to hour and a half
Good nap - 2 hours ish
wake - feed
wake time - up to 2-3 hours on some days
around 5ish in the afternoon Ezra gets a little tired so he sits in the bouncy chair and watches me make dinner or we go for a walk outside to get some air.
7:00 every night is bath time.
We start to cluster feed after his bath - feeding every hour.
Between 8:30-10:00 Ezra does down for the night :)
We usually have at least one or two feedings at night around 2 or 3 and 4-6.

Yesterday, we went off schedule to have lunch with my MOPS ladies. Ezra was not welcome in the lounge area (under 21...ha) so we had to move our table to the ballroom.

He is finally starting to take to his soothie (pacifier) and wubanub! So thankful! It saved the lunch yesterday! We started our cloth diapering this week, too, but I will blog about that a little later. So excited to commit to cloth! We have been so fortunate thus far. We have not spent a single dollar on disposable diapers. However, we did invest a good amount in reusable diapers. More to come. AND, we are at a turning point...I'm able to get more done in a day while Ezra naps or plays on his playmat. I made a diaper pail liner today! I'll blog about it later, too.

Lastly, baby boy weighed in this week at 10.6 lbs! Right at the 50th percentile. He has doubled his day two birth weight. So proud of our little man. Next week we will celebrate TWO MONTHS!
