Unwrapping Christmas: recipes

Unwrapping recipes:

Derek's students have competed against each other all semester with the grand prize of a pizza party (1st place) and chocolate party (2nd place)! We both had to deliver on the 2nd place prize. Derek and I spent a solid week making "rice-crispy" treats with pretzels instead of the traditional rice-crispy. We had to infuse chocolate somehow so we made fancy designs on top using a cake decorating bag. We bought (since PAM is not available here) some already greased wax paper to lay the deliciousness out on the table. What we didn't anticipate was quite how sticky it would be. In the end we spent even more time pulling the attached wax paper off of the treats and putting them into baggies for the kids! It was fun to bake together and create this one-of-a-kind FEKKES dessert! Here's how we did it! (THANK YOU COSTCO!)

1 4lb bag of Costco pretzels - crushed
3 1lb bags of Costco marshmellows
1 5lb tub of costco butter
2 packages of choco chips

Combine the same as you would a rice-crispy recipe. If you like salty with your sweet, then this is the recipe for you!

Oh, we made sure that over 150 bags of FEKKES pretzel treats were enjoyed!
